Williams & Davis Boilers (Hutchins, TX) – Williams & Davis was originally established in 1921 as company specializing in the planning and management of hot water and steam boiler redesigns for the rapidly growing city of Dallas, TX. After only 4 years in operation they got into the boiler manufacturing business, a move that helped them maintain profitability through the lean years of the Great Depression. In fact, during the early 1930s, the company successfully expanded their distribution to every part of the US. But despite the fact that business was strong, the start of WWII in 1939 slowed growth significantly as boilers were in scarce demand. Once the war ended six years later, the company was rewarded for their endurance with an economic boom that resulted in further growth and expansion. By 1953, their boilers were known for their excellence throughout the US, Canada and in many foreign countries. This amount of growth demanded a new industrialized manufacturing plant be built, and in 1961 they did so in Hutchins, TX. That location is where you will find this sign adorning their parking lot and catching the eye of motorists along I-45 – only about 10 miles south of Dallas, where it all started almost a century ago.
