Travelier Motel (Macon, MO) – I was struck by this sign immediately. A wide angle shot of this sign would reveal it’s unique arrow-shaped design, but ultimately fell too much in love with this tighter perspective. I did my best to track down the history of this sign, but no luck whatsoever. Even a search for the company who manufactured the it (Davis & Hourigan) yielded nothing. My guess is that it was first installed sometime during the 1950s. And the great patina it’s sporting would indicate that it hasn’t been repainted in at least a few decades, if ever.
