Rieder Meat Market (Delano, MN) – In 2011 the Mayor of Delano proclaimed June 4th as Rieder Meat Market Day. This was in celebration of the market’s 100 years serving the community. It all started when two German brothers (Leonard & John Rieder) settled in Delano after emigrating from Bavaria, Germany. Soon after, in 1911, they decided to open Rieder’s Meat Market. It has remained in the family ever since as generation after generation of Rieders have taken over and continued to cement the family as near-royalty in this small Minnesota community.
