Pix Theater (Sleepy Eye, MN) – I come across a lot of these old theaters while traveling though small towns, but for whatever reason I’m rarely excited about photographing them. This one was different. I loved it from the moment I saw it. Aside from the cool name, those vintage metallic letters with chipping red paint housing vintage neon tubes were just too good to pass up. Details on the history of this place were hard to come by… from what I could find it was in business for 50 years (1940-1990), had a single movie screen and seated 398 people.
