Jerry Dutler’s Bowl (Mankato, MN) – Shortly after shooting this I learned that the spiky thing on top is called a Roto-Sphere, and that each of those multi-colored spikes are a full eight feet long. The ball in the center spins in three directions and is composed of two counter-rotating hemispheres allowing the whole unit to spin wildly. Supposedly only 17 of the 234 ever produced by creator Warren Milks between 1960-1971 are still in existence. I hope to photograph them all someday.
